Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.14% in a weak market

Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.99 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 2.63 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.64 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.14 per cent at 50552.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 47.46 points at 24320.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 114.5 points at 79591.41.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobilit, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobilit, Sakuma Exports, SMS Lifesciences Ind, Airan Ltd. and Lakshmi Finance hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akshar Spintex, Quintegra Sol, Nandani Creation, Mask Investments and Revathi Equipment hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
