Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.63% in a weak market
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.63 per cent at 50484.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 10.1 points at 24688.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 131.3 points at 80671.56.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank, Reliance Power and Hind Const Co were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Century Texttiles, Capital Trust, Laxmi Cotspin, Greenply Inds and Just Dial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sumeet Ind, Globe Textiles(India), Zee Learn, Diligent Media Corp and Zenith Birla hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
