Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.37% in a weak market

Granules India Ltd.(up 1.83 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.12 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.37 per cent at 21871.1 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 212.36 points at 24798.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 644.57 points at 81222.98.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.
Shares of Zomato, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Zomato, Gyscoal Alloys, Indian Hume Pipe, SJS Enterprises and Majesco hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, Arvee Laboratories, Ravindra Energy, Tips Films and Avantel hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
