Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.58% in a weak market

Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 5.69 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 3.14 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 1.94 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.58 per cent at 25199.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 73.1 points at 24294.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 202.68 points at 79503.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobilit, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobilit, Sakuma Exports, SMS Lifesciences Ind, Lakshmi Finance and Dhunseri Tea hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akshar Spintex, Quintegra Sol, Nandani Creation, Mask Investments and Revathi Equipment hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
