Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.46%
Shares of Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon Ltd.(down 4.41 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 4.28 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 3.99 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.3 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 2.4 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.46 per cent down at 21583.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 662.11 points at 24055.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 2222.55 points at 78759.4.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 3 ended in the green, while 47 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Zomato and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Arrow Greentech, Gyscoal Alloys, Lux Ind., Wealth First Portfolio Managers and GHCL Textiles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SEL Manufacturing Co, Valiant Laboratories, Spandana Sphoorty, Vraj Iron & Steel and Brightcom Group hit their fresh 52-week lows.
