Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.29% in a weak market

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.63 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(up 0.62 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 2.84 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.09 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.68 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.29 per cent at 22269.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 43.46 points at 24303.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 145.08 points at 79503.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Inox Wind Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of The Western India, Dynacons Sys, Inox Wind Energy, Salzer Electro and Inox Wind Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Coffee Day Ent, SecUR Credentials, Nandani Creation, Rishabh Instruments and Equitas Small Fin hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
