Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.87% in an upbeat market
Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 3.65 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.57 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 2.06 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.02 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Lupin Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.87 per cent at 21770.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 128.31 points at 24183.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 386.46 points at 79145.86.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, Reliance Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Indraprastha Med, BSL Ltd, S P Apparels, Century Enka and Firstsource hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SEL Manufacturing Co, Morarjee Text, Gujarat Lease, Renaissance Global and IndInfravit Trust hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
