Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.36% in a weak market
HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.6 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.29 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.36 per cent at 52430.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 88.95 points at 24711.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 136.75 points at 81206.71.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of Tata Teleservices, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of VST Industries, Krebs Biochem, Tata Teleservices, MTNL and Macpower CNC Machine hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nakoda Group Of Ind(PP), Keerti Knowledge, Sah Polymers, Akme Fintrade(India and We Win hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
