Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.11% in a weak market

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.02 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.83 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.37 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.11 per cent at 19780.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 24.55 points at 24117.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 74.41 points at 79401.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, ONGC and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Refex Industries, DCX Systems, Aakash Exploration, Rane Holdings and JK Paper hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Hilton Metal, Integra Garment, Paras Petrofils and MEP Infrastructure hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
