Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.31%

Shares of State Bank of India(up 1.18 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.15 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.61 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.24 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.08 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.31 per cent down at 48048.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 27.05 points at 22529.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 52.63 points at 73953.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, NHPC, Indian Railway Fin and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bharat Bijlee, GRP Ltd, Hindustan Zinc, Rolex Rings and Rail Vikas Nigam hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equip, Megastar Foods, Tasty Bite Eatable, Morarjee Text and Sintex Plastics Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
