Stock market update: Nifty IT index 1.26%

Shares of Coforge Ltd.(up 1.97 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.93 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.05 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 5.38 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.88 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.67 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.26 per cent at 44954.20.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 247.15 points at 23951.7, while the BSE Sensex stood 964.15 points at 79218.05.
