Shares of Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.2 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 1.35 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.0 per cent at 23482.10.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 91.86 points at 23707.9, while the BSE Sensex stood 234.12 points at 78199.11.
