Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.74%

Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 6.36 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 4.37 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 4.08 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 3.89 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.61 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 6.21 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 3.66 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.08 per cent) and Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.74 per cent up at 21733.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 378.21 points at 23739.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1397.07 points at 78583.81.
