Trippie Redd initially announced the Take Me Away tour for 2023, scheduled to commence on August 31 and conclude on October 9 in North America. The artist then surprised fans by canceling the tour, leaving many without an explanation.
However, Trippie has now provided some clarity regarding the cancellation.
Over this weekend, the 24-year-old artist revealed the compelling reason behind his abrupt decision in a video message. He disclosed, «I’m dropping a project named Saint Michael, right? What if I was to tell you that’s my son’s name and I canceled the tour because I had to deliver my son?»
This revelation aligns with the release of the Saint Michael EP, Trippie Redd's 10th EP and his third project in the year, following the August release of the «A Love Letter to You 5» mixtape.
The EP comprises seven songs, including «Pray 4 Us,» «Van Cleef Island,» «1716 Osage,» «Ok, Cool,» «7 am in Ohio,» «Yo Pi’erre Slime,» and «Saint Michael Myers,» featuring a cover image portraying Trippie breaking free from heavy chains.
In response to criticisms surrounding the tour cancellation, Trippie expressed the unpredictability of life, stating, «Life be lifin’. Y’all sittin’ there bashing me, saying all this crazy stuff.
And here I’m just bringing my child into the world.» To share the joyous occasion, he reportedly posted a photo of the newborn on his Instagram Story, showcasing the infant's full name as Saint Michael White, dressed in an adorable green onesie and matching hat.
