The Reddit user, who had worked at the company for two years, described the work environment as «quite toxic.» In their post titled Ex-Employer Deducting Huge Amount from Final Salary, they explained, “My performance review call turned into a heated argument with all three founders, and I decided to leave.” However, the situation worsened when they discovered a substantial deduction in their final salary.
The individual stated, “Now, for my final month's salary, they are deducting a huge amount (around 80%) for a health insurance premium, even though my offer letter clearly stated that insurance was provided by the company, with no mention of any deductions.” When the employee confronted the company about the cut, the discussion allegedly became even more hostile.
The Redditor also mentioned a conflict regarding a company-provided MacBook. “Additionally, they had provided me with an M2 MacBook for work, and now they are demanding that I return it. I asked them to clarify the policy regarding deduction, but instead of a proper response, the conversation with HR escalated into another toxic argument.” With no clear resolution from the company, the employee turned to Reddit for advice on how to handle the situation.
