Beatles' 'last song', will be released on Thursday, November 2. A recently completed version of 'Now and Then', the song includes contributions from all four members of the rock band, that revolutionized the music world is ready. Apple Corps Ltd. and Capitol/UMe will release the refreshed editions of the two 1973 collections that became the most cherished greatest hit sets from the group, '1962-66' and '1967-70'. These were also known as the 'red' and 'blue' albums.
These songs have been considerably expanded and updated sets that originally held 26-28 tracks each. The new editions now contain 38 and 37 songs, respectively. 'Now and Then' will have a stand-alone release on vinyl, and cassette, besides its place as an addition to the reconfigured '1967-70' album. The new tracks will come out on vinyl in four different 7-inch or 12-inch variants.
But before the tracks are released, a 12-minute documentary on the making of 'Now and Then' will be premiered on November 1. Written and directed by Oliver Murray, the mini-documentary includes footage of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, the late George Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon and Peter Jackson. Before the launch of the documentary, a 34-second teaser for the mini-doc went up on YouTube on Thursday.
The songs that will make their Atmos debut next month, include “All You Need Is Love,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Hello Goodbye,” “Hey Jude,” “Lady Madonna,” “The Ballad of John and Yoko” and this version of “Get Back.”
