Thyrocare’s founder and CEO, Dr. A Velumani, recently shared a powerful lesson in humility that caught the attention of many. Following an event at a prestigious five-star hotel, where most guests arrived in luxury cars, Velumani made a choice that stunned onlookers. Rather than stepping into a high-end vehicle, the millionaire opted for a more humble mode of transportation – a ride-hailing service.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Velumani shared his experience, saying, «After dinner, I called for OLA. While waiting, many insisted for selfies. Long queue. All high-end cars of Rich are behind the OLA patiently. When I sat in [an] OLA [cab] it shocked all.» The incident took place around 10:30 pm, and the sight of the CEO waiting for a cab instead of a luxury car was a moment of surprise for many.
\The message behind his choice was clear. The entrepreneur emphasized the importance of staying grounded, no matter how successful one becomes. He wrote, «When you are tall. Be cool. Be frugal. Be humble. Rich and famous also respect. EMI gets high-end cars and an artificial high. But OLA gets you peace for sure.» Velumani’s words struck a chord with many who value simplicity over ostentation.
