Alan Mamedi jumped to Indian student's defence after her comment on 'dream to leave' home country went viral on Thursday. In the 24-second video, the student, named Ekta, was interviewed while walking around the streets of Canada. When the interviewer asked 'what brought her to Canada?' she said it was her dream to go out of her home country, India.
When asked if what she likes the most about Canada (so far), Ekta promptly replied that she loves the energy of the city. The biotech student, who is applying for business courses, said, «You can just walk around and see the sceneries and sunrise and sunset. That's my favourite part.» Many have slammed Ekta's comments on her ambition to work overseas and leave India on social media.
The clip caught Mamedi's attention, who dropped a few lines in her support in his Twitter post. Hitting out at the trollers, Mamedi said that people misunderstanding her and making fun of her wasn't acceptable behaviour. He urged Ekta to not get bogged down by the «clowns» (trollers).
The 39-year-old said that Ekta was «cool» and «living the dream.» He also offered her a job once she completes her education at any of the Truecaller offices around the world. «People really want to misunderstand her to make fun of her. This is not OK!!! Ekta, don't listen to all these clowns making fun of you.
I think you're cool and living the dream! When you're done with school, you're welcome to work at Truecaller in any of our offices around the world,» he tweeted. Mamedi's post earned a lot of appreciation from most of his more than 19K followers. His tweet got more than 624.6K views on the micro-blogging site, which was rebranded X last month.
