Trump is ‘not joking’ about third term. President says "there are methods" for doing so
Donald Trump knows how to dominate the news headlines. On Sunday, the President reiterated that he could pursue a third term as US President, even though such a move could challenge the constitutional two-term limit established by the 22nd Amendment.
President Trump, in an interview to NBC News, said that there were methods for doing so and clarifying that he was “not joking.”

President Trump said he’s “not joking” about serving a third term in the White House — and thinks there’s a loophole to make it happen. Trump, 78, told NBC’s Kristen Welker in a Sunday morning phone call that “a lot of people want me to do it.”

Trump claimed that “there are methods which you could do it,” including having Vice President JD Vance, 40, run for president with Trump as his vice president. Vance would then resign to allow Trump to regain the top job.

“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call with NBC News, referring to his allies. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.” “I’m focused on the current,” Trump added, in some of his most extensive comments to date about serving a third term.
When asked whether he wanted another term, the president responded, “I like working.”
“I’m not joking,” Trump said, when asked to clarify. “But I’m not — it is far too early to think about it.”
When asked whether he has been presented with plans to allow him to seek a third term, Trump said, “There are methods which you could do it.”
