UBS swipes another advisor duo from Goldman Sachs
UBS has just taken another bite out of Goldman Sachs’ bench of advisors in the Big Apple, as UBS Private Wealth Management announced the addition of James Herring and John Gaffney to its New York team.
Both individuals will operate out of UBS’s office at 299 Park Avenue in Manhattan under Chris Amo and Bob Sorrentino, who are market directors at UBS Private Wealth Management’s New York division.
“On behalf of UBS, we’re very pleased to welcome James and John to the firm,” Amo said in a statement Friday. “The team’s vast industry experience and dedication to their clients will be a great addition to our business, and we look forward to having them help us continue to expand our client offering in the New York market.”
Bob Sorrentino also highlighted the strategic benefits of their appointment.
“With the team’s experience helping clients navigate complex financial matters and commitment to delivering personalized solutions, coupled with UBS’s unique suite of capabilities focused on ultra-high-net-worth clients, I have no doubt that the team will continue to successfully deliver for clients in the years to come.”
Herring has roughly 35 years of experience, having managed high-net-worth executives, nonprofits, and family offices. His notable achievements include serving as a regional manager for the Southeast at Goldman Sachs from 1996 to 2000 and co-heading its family investment office from 2006 to 2010, a business he helped develop.
Prior to his financial career, Herring served as an officer in the US Army Reserve for nine years.
Gaffney’s expertise includes five years at Goldman Sachs, where his focus was on holistic wealth management solutions for family offices and private wealth clients.
