UK inflation has risen further to 9.1%, the highest rate in 40 years amid the cost of living crisis.The figures from the Office for National Statistics showed an increase in May from 9% in April as measured by the consumer price index, as petrol prices and the cost of a weekly shop puts pressure on households across the country.Last week the Bank of England warned inflation was on track to reach 11% later this year amid soaring gas and electricity prices.More to follow…
