Ultra Media & Entertainment Group has expanded its OTT offerings with the launch of two new platforms, Ultra Play and Ultra Gaane. The company plans to significantly invest in its direct-to-consumer business over the next five years.
Ultra Play will focus on streaming classic Hindi films, boasting a collection of over 2,000 movies from Bollywood's golden eras, including the 1950s to the early 2000s. This platform will feature films starring iconic stars like Guru Dutt, Dev Anand, and Rajesh Khanna.
Ultra Gaane is a video music platform with a catalogue of over 4,000 songs from the 1960s to the 1990s and will also support new and emerging independent artists.
With its existing Marathi OTT platform, Ultra Jhakaas, the company will now operate three distinct OTT platforms.
All three platforms are subscription-based, with subscription to each platform costing Rs 199 per year and Rs 99 for three months.
Rajat Agrawal, COO & Director of Ultra Media & Entertainment Group, said, «We plan to invest Rs 500 crore in our OTT ventures over the next five years. Of this, 75% will be allocated to Ultra Play and Ultra Gaane, with the remaining 25% directed towards Ultra Jhakaas.»
He further explained that Rs 450 crore will be dedicated to content production and acquisition across the three platforms, while Rs 50 crore will be used for marketing and technical development.
«Initially, we will invest Rs 30 crore across all three platforms, with plans for incremental increases in investment each year,» Agrawal added.
The company
