RBI can be searched in UDGAM portal.
As on March 4, 2024, there are 30 banks, which are part of UDGAM portal, and they cover around 90% of unclaimed deposits (in value terms) in Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund of RBI.
A user is required to register on the portal by providing his/her name and mobile number.
The name of the account holder, the name of the bank (one or more banks can be chosen), and any one or more of the five inputs—the Permanent Account Number (PAN), the Driving License Number, the Voter ID Number, the Passport Number, and the Date of Birth of the account holder—must be entered in order to search unclaimed deposits in a particular category.
No, the UDGAM portal just makes it easier to (a) search unclaimed deposits and accounts from several banks at once and (b) get information about each bank's claim and settlement procedures (which is accessible through the search results). The only bank from which unclaimed deposits can be retrieved is the relevant one.
UDRN is a unique number generated through Core Banking Solution (CBS) by banks and assigned to each Unclaimed account/ deposit transferred to Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund of RBI.
