Trevor Noah was left red-faced after his live show in Bengaluru was cancelled last minute due to some technical glitches.
The comedian revealed that both of his shows at the Manpho Convention Centre (dated September 27 and September 28 respectively), were cancelled. Fans who had gathered to watch ‘The Daily Show’ host regale them, were left disappointed when they could not hear anything due to poor acoustics.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the comedian apologised profusely to his fans and promised a refund of tickets. “Dear Bengaluru India, I was so looking forward to performing in your amazing city but due to technical issues, we’ve been forced to cancel both shows. We tried everything but because the audience can’t hear the comedians on stage there’s literally no way to do a show.
We’ll make sure all ticket holders receive a full refund and again I’m so sorry for both the inconvenience and disappointment this has never happened to us before,” he tweeted.
The post went viral on the microblogging site, gaining 2.3 million views and 10K likes.
One Twitter user praised him for being professional and cancelling when there were technical issues. “Just read that the shows in Bengaluru were scheduled for today and tomorrow.
Terrible mismanagement by the organizers but good on you to cancel the shows vs going ahead with whatever issues were there. Most others would've gone ahead,” reads the comment.
Another quipped, “Bengaluru wanted to experience Trevor Noah, but Trevor Noah ended up experiencing Bengaluru!”
Many others chastised Bengaluru’s poor stage infrastructure.
