In yet another upset in the U.S. Open 2023 on Wednesday, Dominic Stricker defeated seventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-5 6-7(2) 6-7(5) 7-6(6) 6-3. It was a marathon match that stretched to four hours, but Stricker stormed into the third round as he scored the top-tenth victory of his career. After the game stretched into the fourth round, the Swiss player forced Tsitsipas for the third tiebreaker, followed by the decider.
Novak Djokovic sailed into the third round, but Lily Miyakazi lost to Belinda Bencic. Thursday will be an important day for the US Open 2023 as Andy Murray, Dan Evans, Katie Boulter and Jodie Burrage, Cameron Norrie and Jack Draper will take on their rivals.
