Coldplay recently concluded their performances in India, with their final concert taking place in Ahmedabad over the weekend. During the show, lead singer Chris Martin playfully claimed to be from Telangana, a remark that quickly caught the attention of actor Vijay Deverakonda.

As Coldplay wrapped up their India tour, Chris humorously stated that the band was originally from India, with each member belonging to a different state. Addressing the crowd, he pointed out that while their bassist, Guy Berryman, might appear Scottish, he was actually from Tamil Nadu. He then introduced their drummer, Will Champion, as a proud Gujarati from Ahmedabad, describing him as the glue that holds the band together. Chris, playing along with the joke, declared himself as a native of Telangana.
Amused by the statement, Vijay Deverakonda shared a clip from the concert on his Instagram stories. Welcoming Chris to the state, he suggested creating a mashup featuring Coldplay’s music blended with Podusthunna Poddumeeda, a song closely associated with the Telangana movement.
