Vikas Khemani, Founder, Carnelian Capital Advisors, says: “We do not buy pharma because it is a defensive. We bought pharma because it is growing. Pharma was not going anywhere in the last seven, eight years, except for the last one year or so. We think that the seven-year cycle is over. We are beginning to see a very interesting trend developing in the segment, both from a US market perspective, as well as the domestic market perspective. We think the underperformance of seven, eight years will catch up. We think that is where big money can be made.”
Surprised by what TCS and Infosys have managed to do, just so beaten down in terms of sentiment and even an inline set of numbers or a slight beat is what the Street gets impressed with?
Vikas Khemani: I mean, you know that I mean, we have been quite positive on the IT sector for quite some time.
And we have never been perturbed by quarter-on-quarter, as long as we believe that there is a long term trend, which is in favour. I have said in our past interactions as well, that we are positive on IT and I think the execution cycle will only pick up. I have again said that IT is the best trade on interest rates coming down in the US.
