Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), created under President-elect Donald Trump's direction and led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, launched a recruitment initiative on Thursday for those interested in joining the effort to reform US government operations.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), DOGE invited applicants to submit their resumes through direct messages on the social media platforms. However, candidates are required to have verification status on X, which comes with a minimum £8 monthly premium subscription. In addition, the department is looking for high IQ individuals who are willing to work over 80 hours a week.
«We are grateful to the thousands of Americans who have shown interest in helping us at DOGE,» the post read. «We don’t need part-time idea generators; we need super high-IQ, small-government revolutionaries ready to work 80+ hours a week on unglamorous cost-cutting,» DOGE wrote on the hiring post.
«If that sounds like you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants,» the post continued.
In response to one commenter asking about the historical significance of the project, Musk clarified that DOGE personnel would not be compensated for their efforts to cut government spending and improve efficiency.
