Omar Abdullah's remarks came amidst ongoing ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly after the PDP moved a resolution for the restoration of Article 370 that once gave the UT special powers under the instrument of accession.
«During the elections, I kept saying that we have to raise our voices with the help of the assembly. We have to send a message that whatever happened to us on August 5, 2019, is not acceptable to us,» said CM Abdullah.
Further, the newly inaugurated CM called the 5-year-old decision one that was taken 'without the consultation' of the politicians of the now scrapped state. He accused the BJP-led Central government of not taking the 'permission' of local leaders before going forward with the decision.
«It happened without our permission, will or consultation… Some people started taunting us that we forgot and we betrayed… We are not those who betray,» Abdullah was quoted as saying.
