The teaser intensifies with shots of Sean Penn's character dragging a screaming young woman through an alleyway. Meanwhile, gunfire rings out in the distance. The clip then closes with DiCaprio's character, now older with a goatee, while he is muttering, «Just when you think you got a handle on things.”

Reportedly, the film was largely filmed in California under its working title BC Project. Anderson, as per the report, shot the film with 35mm VistaVision cameras, which are a hallmark of Anderson's directing style. It added that some filming also took place in El Paso, Texas.

The film, as per the report, is also Anderson's sixth with composer Johnny Greenwood and the last film of first assistant director Adam Somner, who passed away in November 2024.
