This very statement which eventually gained significant traction on social media was actually met with praise from some users while, at the same time, historical records indicate that the assertion of Joe Biden is absolutely ‘inaccurate’.

According to Snopes, several other previous US Presidents have also missed their successor’s inaugurations. Notably, John Adams left Washington early on the day of Thomas Jefferson's inauguration in the year 1801 while citing security concerns amidst heightened tensions.
Similarly, John Quincy Adams departed before the inauguration of Andrew Jackson back in the year 1829 following a pretty contentious election, asserted Snopes. Andrew Johnson did not even attend the inauguration of Ulysses S.
