For the past 10 years, residents have been separating dry and wet waste daily, ensuring that nearly 225 kg of waste stays out of landfills. Their approach has now gone viral after a video showcasing their efforts started trending online.
A content creator recently shared a video on Instagram, walking viewers through the society’s waste management setup. Residents strictly follow waste segregation, compost kitchen scraps, and even share extra food through a community fridge. This fridge allows anyone in need to pick up meals instead of letting food go to waste.
Beyond waste management, Navjivan Vihar also runs a donation centre where people can drop off old clothes and household items. These are then given to NGOs and individuals who need them.
