Many states enact laws but give citizens time to become familiar with them or learn about them. For a lot of people, this means that new laws go into effect every year, as quoted in a report by The Independent.

On January 1, a new Minnesota law resulting from the intense competition for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour tickets will go into force.
