On Tuesday, OPM released a memo titled ‘A Fork in the Road,’ providing additional details about the offer.
While this offer sounds appealing, it is not without its legal challenges. The OPM is classifying the resignation as “deferred resignation,” meaning employees would officially leave their roles in September, while still receiving full pay and benefits until then.
