Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Ukraine has drastically increased its domestic arms production. The country has been able to manufacture an impressive range of military equipment, from missiles to howitzers and drones. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that 30% of the military equipment used by Ukraine in 2024 was domestically made, showcasing the rapid growth of Ukraine’s defense industry.

Additionally, the country produced 2.5 million mortar and artillery shells from January to November 2024, a significant achievement compared to the European Union’s projected production of around 2 million artillery shells for 2025.
