Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has been slammed for his allegedly sexist, anti-LGBTQIA+ speech. He has also been criticized for quoting his teammate Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The three-time Super Bowl champion came under fire after he addressed the Catholic private liberal arts school in Atchison, Kansas, on Saturday.
Butker: “Dangerous gender ideologies”
Known for his conservative Catholic beliefs, Harrison Butker attacked what he called “dangerous gender ideologies” in an apparent reference to Pride month, which has been celebrated in June since the Stonewall riots in 1969. He also criticized an article published in the media highlighting a shift toward conservativism in some parts of the Catholic Church.

He also targeted President Joe Biden at a time when he is gearing up for the 2024 US Presidential Election. Kansas City Chiefs kicker slammed Biden's policies, including his response to COVID-19. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 1.2 million people were killed in the pandemic in the U.S.
Butker also said, «Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for the degenerate cultural values and media all stem from the pervasiveness of disorder.»

The three-time Super Bowl champion borrowed a lyric from Swift’s 2022 song “Bejeweled,” and said, «As my teammate’s girlfriend says, ‘Familiarity breeds contempt.'»
