Sana Khan married cleric Mufti Anas Syed in 2020 and left showbiz. In a recent interview with The Times Of India, Khan revealed that she was in a “very bad phase,” when she met her husband and was even contemplating suicide. However, her unwavering faith (the act of suicide is considered a sin in Islam) kept her from giving in to self-destructive thoughts.
The ‘Wajah Tum Ho’ actress praised her husband for his simple lifestyle. “My husband’s life has been very simple. We were getting married, and I remember he has only 6 new clothes in the entire year; that’s it and 5 shows.
Usmein sirf do chappal. When I married him, I was like,Kapde Kahan hai… he had a very small shelf in our cupboard. When we got married, I used to post photos on our social media, and people would ask, “Aapke husband ek he blazer kabse pehne hai.?” I was like he doesn’t have any other.
How will he wear a different one? He leads that lifestyle, and it’s not like he can’t buy them, but he likes to stay like that. When I met him, I was like, Sach mein Aise log hai duniya mein. I make sure to thank God every day,” she told TOI.
The ‘Bigg Boss’ star also revealed that she had been hesitant about getting married to him as he was seven years younger than her. “I was like, “Tum chote ho, I am 7 years older.” But he made me understand why we should get married. I always felt Maulana’s were very boring because I came from a very fancy life.
I heard Anas talking about a late friend so passionately and wishing well for his soul. I asked myself if I have a single friend who would wish this well for me even after my death, and I realised I had no one. That was the first thing that attracted me towards Anas,” she said.
