'Welcome to Wrexham' Season 3 will be delayed. FX announced Thursday that the third installment of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's football drama will now be released on May 2, reports 'Collider'. 'Welcome to Wrexham' Season 3 was originally scheduled to be released on April 18, but it was pushed and FX did not give a reason. The sports documentary series narrates the struggle of Reynolds and McElhenney and depicts how they navigate their ownership of the world’s third-oldest professional soccer club in the northern Welsh city of Wrexham.
In a statement issued Thursday, FX said, «In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th tier Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the Club into an underdog story the whole world could root for.»
It said further that after fifteen seasons in the National League, the Club finally achieved promotion back into the English Football League.
FX also said that 'Welcome to Wrexham' Season 3 will offer «unprecedented access on the pitch, bringing viewers inside the locker room and alongside the players, while the action is unfolding in some of the biggest matches Wrexham AFC has ever played.»
'Welcome to Wrexham' airs on the linear network and then streams to Hulu the following day. The first two episodes of the third season will be released on the premiere date.
