Quoting unnamed Trump critics, CNN has reported that the Republican candidate could be laying the groundwork to question the outcome of the 2024 election if he loses a second time. The former president continues to describe Kamala Harris's elevation to her party's top ticket as “unconstitutional”. She has also accused her of taking part in a “coup” and he may claim that her candidature itself is unconstitutional and she has no locus standi to claim the top office.
Democratic Party will hold its national convention next week in Chicago. But much before that, the Democratic National Committee made an official announcement last week that Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are the party nominees for president and vice president, respectively. Delegates held a virtual roll call ahead of the convention, where Kamala Harris received 99% support.

Republicans know well that there is no way to challenge Harris’s placement on ballots after the DNC vote. Talking to CNN, a person familiar with the Trump campaign’s plans said that when the DNC nominated Kamala Harris, they were well within the timeframe to submit the required documentation to each of the states to place her name on the ballot.
