The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that small lava fountains began shooting into the air on Monday afternoon, reported Fox Weather. More than five hours later, the fountains located in the north vent shot 100 feet to 120 feet high, as per the report.
The USGS also said a small fountain was observed in the south vent, and a small lava flow emerged from the south side of the cone, reported Fox Weather.
According to the report, the lava fountains created multiple lava streams. These streams covered 15 per cent to 20 per cent of the crater floor.
