The streaming giant has now enlisted the help of Discord to identify those responsible for the breach. According to a report by Polygon, “Netflix is looking toward Discord for help in figuring out who, exactly, is leaking unreleased footage from some of its popular shows.”
A legal development in the case came from the Northern District of California, where a court issued a subpoena demanding Discord provide information about a user allegedly involved in the leak. The subpoena specifically named a Discord user, @jacejohns4n, accused of sharing a copyrighted image from the unreleased second season of Squid Game.
The subpoena is part of Netflix's broader legal effort to pinpoint the individual or group behind the leak, signalling its firm stance on protecting its content from unauthorised distribution.
The leak has been traced to a security breach at Iyuno (referred to as Lyuno), a post-production company that works with leading streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Studios, BBC, Disney, and HBO.
