Nick Hogan, the son of WWE legend Hulk Hogan, was arrested for driving under the influence in the early hours of Saturday morning in Florida city, marking 16 years since his involvement in a serious car crash.
Taken into custody on misdemeanor DUI charges just before 4 am (local time), Nick Hogan refused to undergo a sobriety test, as per jail records. He was later released on Saturday after posting a $500 bond.
However, the exact details pertaining to the incident are not yet clear.
Before the arrest, Nick Hogan had shared on his Instagram page that he attended a bikini contest at his father's restaurant in the Clearwater area on Friday night, according to TMZ.
Nick Hogan, born Nicholas Bollea, had previously been involved in a traumatic car crash in Clearwater in 2007.
The accident resulted in severe brain injuries to Hogan’s friend, John Graziano.
Graziano, an active-duty Marine at the time, was a passenger in Nick Hogan’s car during a drag race that ended in the vehicle careening off the road and colliding with a tree in Clearwater, as reported by People.
At the age of 17, Hogan spent eight months in Pinellas County Jail after entering a no-contest plea to a charge of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury. Authorities alleged that alcohol was a factor, with accusations even extending to Hulk Hogan supplying alcohol to his underage son.
In addition to a three-year license suspension, Nick Hogan received a five-year probation sentence and was required to complete 500 community service hours.
