Kriti Sanon, Co-Founder & Chief Customer Officer and Vaishali Gupta, Co-Founder & Chief Growth Officer, Hyphen, in conversation with ET Now on the launch of the skincare brand Hyphen, the brand philosophy and advice for women entrepreneurs.I want to know everything about Hyphen. First, the name. How did you guys come up with it?Kriti Sanon: The name is very important for any brand and it needs to stand for the brand philosophy.
At the same time, it needs to be catchy. It needs to be something easily spoken and in our case we also wanted it to be cool. So, so all of that.
It took us very long to find a name because we were not happy with anything. We were sharing names with each other in the group which had no brand name to it. It felt apt because we are hyphening nature and science.
We are hyphening a lot of really good ingredients and making power pack products. Our sunscreen is also a moisturizer cum sunscreen. We are hyphenating multiple benefits in every product.
So, it felt right. I just feel you can hyphen anything to your life. You can have it all.
I feel my journey as an engineer, model, actor, turning into an entrepreneur, a producer can also be hyphenated. I remember messaging Vaishali. She will take you through that.I want to know Vaishali's side of the story also, because after mCaffeine and after becoming such a big brand, now you are doing something with Hyphen. Kriti explained how it means joining two forces – nature and science and it is a skincare brand. How do you also plan to take it ahead?Vaishali Gupta: So, I think Hyphen is a very close brand to us.
