Reuters Enterprise Food wellness BDL reports BDL says Prosus' offer for Just Eat Takeaway is unfair to minority shareholders
BDL Capital Management considers the price Prosus offered for Just Eat Takeaway.com to be unfair to minority shareholders, the Paris-based asset manager said in a report on Tuesday. In late February, the Dutch technology investor agreed to buy Just Eat Takeaway for 20.3 euros per share to create a "European tech champion" of food delivery. The price should be 56.1 euros per share based on BDL's fair value calculation, it said in the report published on its website. BDL holds 2.04% in Just Eat Takeaway, according to LSEG data. This price was calculated by analysing enterprise value-to-gross transaction value (EV/GTV) and EV-to-EBITDA multiples in past Just Eat transactions, other transactions in the sector and for listed peers, BDL said.

markets UPS wellness Trade Cycling show rights There’s surplus liquidity in the system but why is it not reflecting in credit growth? Devang Shah answers
Devang Shah, Head, Fixed Income, Axis MF, says RBI has infused close to Rs 8 lakh crore of liquidity including the announcement on OMOs and this liquidity injection is very positive and near-term liquidity problems may get sorted out. In fact, Shah’s assessment is that from here till September, we will see a positive banking liquidity and a positive durable liquidity to upwards of around Rs 2-3 lakh crore. Now they will probably have to start looking at some bit of absorption of liquidity because liquidity should be in a decent surplus. We are looking at surplus liquidity coming into the system for the first time by the Reserve Bank of India. Do you think markets should now stop complaining? There is surplus liquidity in the system. Devang Shah: You are absolutely right. Last year, after the entire forex intervention and significant currency leakage, durable liquidity as well as banking liquidity, both had turned negative. If you look across from June to September 2024, post the RBI dividend declaration, we were in significant surplus liquidity. From there, we went into a massive deficit liquidity. Again, thanks to all the proactive measures which RBI collectively put together including tools like CRR, VRR, OMOs, as well as this entire facility on FX, RBI must have infused close to Rs 8 lakh crore of liquidity including the announcement on OMOs.

COST Booking economy Parke Opinion Updates America is headed for a grim fiscal breakdown
Washington, here’s a piece of news that is getting far too little attention: The US is on course for fiscal breakdown. That’s the unambiguous message from the Congressional Budget Office’s newly updated long-term projections. Unless Congress changes course, there’ll be a reckoning, and it will be grim. As the CBO details, deficit spending is more out of control than ever. Both parties share the blame, as do both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue. And all should remember that investors’ appetite for US government debt isn’t limitless. The federal government is currently spending roughly $7 trillion and collecting only $5 trillion in taxes annually. The resulting deficit is a little over 6% of gross domestic product, a disturbingly high number for an economy around full employment. The CBO expects public borrowing to remain at this elevated level or higher for decades. Assuming no recessions, public debt will rise to 100% of GDP this year and 118% by 2035 — and it just keeps rising from there. A responsible Congress would make deficit reduction its overriding priority. Instead, Republicans are discussing ways to borrow more — and not just a little more. New tax cuts are under consideration. And many want to extend provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which would otherwise expire at the end of this year.
