Joly held a «secret meeting» with her Indian counterpart S Jaishankar in Washington last month, a media report has said, amid a diplomatic row between the two countries over the killing of a Sikh separatist leader in June. The report by the Financial Times on Tuesday came even as Canada is yet to comply with India's communication to Ottawa to withdraw over three dozen of its 62 diplomats in the country. The Ministry of External Affairs declined to comment when asked about the reported meeting.

Wholesale price of tur/arhar dal, the most expensive dal in the market, has declined by 4% in the past one month due to the stock limit imposed by the central government on traders and processors, trade body Indian Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA) said in a report. Price of chana dal, which is currently the cheapest dal available in the market, has declined by 4% in one month while masoor price has softened by more than 2% due to rising imports and reduced demand.

Tata-backed Nelco, though, warned that the very survival of satellite players in India would be at stake if satellite spectrum is not priced right by the government. The company reiterated the call for satellite spectrum allotment via the administrative route, as is the global practice. “Spectrum is the satellite industry’s lifeline…unless that is really (at) the right price, it will be impossible for the industry to survive,” Nelco managing director PJ Nath said at the event.
