Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi Inc's supplier Dixon Technologies India Ltd will reportedly open a massive new factory on the outskirts of New Delhi, Bloomberg News reported. Chinese-based company Xiaomi has been compelled to partner with Dixon for smartphone assembly because India is pressing Chinese companies to localize everything from manufacturing to distribution of devices. As per the Bloomberg report, Dixon will invest more than ₹4 billion ($48.2 million) over three years in the factory, which is spread over more than 300,000 square feet or the size of six football fields, and will largely produce Xiaomi smartphones.

The rates were down as the dollar movement has an inverse relation with the price movement in gold. Amit Khare, Associate Vice President at Ganganagar Commodity Limited (GCL) Broking sees bullions making bottom on the daily charts and trading near the demand zone with momentum Indicator RSI indicating the same. His advice to traders is to make fresh buy positions in gold and silver futures near the given support level at Rs 58,500-58,300 while keeping the stop loss near the support levels and booking profit near the resistance of Rs 58,800-59,000. Analyst Neha Qureshi, Senior Technical & Derivative Analyst, Anand Rathi Commodities & Currencies said that the daily chart of October gold futures suggests that the yellow metal was trading below the 50 and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) while retaining the crucial Rs 58,300 level. «If it does break below this level, we can expect further downward movement.

Rain updates: The Indian Meteorological Department has issue a yellow alert for heavy rains in several Maharashtra districts today i.e. on 15 September. As per IMD, yellow alert has been issued in Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Satara, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbani, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur among other districts.

Apple is betting on its trade-in program to drive sales of the newly launched iPhone 15 series and the older-gen iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, which the company has now repriced. The company will popularise its trade-in or phone exchange program in India by making it a part of brand campaigns and highlighting prominently on its India website. The program was introduced along with the Apple online store launch in September 2020 in India. The program is also available through Apple’s retail stores in Delhi and Mumbai and its authorised partners. Currently, Apple is offering up to Rs 67,800 in trade-in value for the iPhone 14 Pro Max and up to Rs 64,500 for the iPhone 14 Pro in India.

NEW DELHI : The Union health ministry has proposed sweeping changes to its drug licensing programme, aiming for uniformity across India to boost drug safety, after cough syrups made in the country were allegedly linked to the deaths of children overseas, two people familiar with the development said. The proposal also follows a government expert panel emphasizing the need for uniform implementation of documentation and dossier-based approval processes for drugs manufactured in the country to ensure consistent quality and safety.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, which dominates India’s small car segment, is urging dealers to stock up on hatchbacks, as the country’s largest carmaker anticipates a positive impact from its expanding sport utility vehicles (SUVs) portfolio. GST Appellate Tribunal Centre announced for 28 states and eight union territories. As per data, currently, only 40 per cent of the corporate income taxpayer base is also registered under GST. As many as 1.39 crore businesses are registered under GST, almost double of the number when GST was launched six years ago on July 1, 2017. Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue buoyancy, which was 1.25 after introduction of the indirect tax regime in 2017, has risen to 1.40 in the last two years. Average monthly GST revenue increased from Rs 89,885 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 1.50 lakh crore in 2022-23.
