Finance Commission, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, pointing to Delhi's «frozen» share in central pool of taxes even as he demanded that Delhi be treated as a «unique case». Alleging «stepmotherly and unfair» treatment by the Centre, Kejriwal said Delhi's share in central pool of taxes was «frozen at astonishingly low» amount of Rs 350 crore for the last 23 years.

Nagaland government has requested the Law Commission to exempt the state from the purview of Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Nagaland Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs K G Kenye said that the state government has officially made the submission to the 22nd Law Commission during the recent visit of a ministerial team led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to Delhi.

Hindon River, a tributary of the Yamuna, experienced a rise in water level, resulting in a flood-like situation in Noida's Ecotech 3 locality on Tuesday. Hundreds of cars were submerged as the water level increased, causing concern for residents in parts of Noida and Ghaziabad. The rising water level of the river has led to a challenging situation in the affected areas.

However, the Olympic Council Asia (OCA) did not extend the deadline beyond July 23 for receiving wrestling entries by name. The IOA ad-hoc panel then decided to conduct trials but exempted both Punia and Phogat, triggering angry reactions from the wrestling fraternity, which alleged bias in the decision. «We will propose to the panel that only if Bajrang and Vinesh win the World Championship trials, only then they should be sent for the Asian Games, otherwise not. Retail leasing in India witnessed a 24% Y-o-Y growth in Jan-June’23 period and a 15% increase compared to Jul-Dec’22 period, according to a CBRE report. Total leasing during Jan-Jun’23 stood at 2.87 mn sq ft compared to 2.31 mn sq ft (Y-o-Y). Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, and Ahmedabad collectively accounted for a cumulative share of 65% in leasing activity during the first six months this year.
