Founded by Bansidhar S Mehta in 1958 as a firm of accountants it has expanded capabilities to include tax and mergers advisory. It also has offices in Delhi and Surat. “As part of this merger, we will be expanding our presence with the addition of new branches in Chennai and Hyderabad. This expansion will enable us to better serve our clients and community, providing more accessible and convenient options”, said a statement from the firm.

Delhi Pollution Control Committee on Monday ordered complete ban on manufacturing, storage, selling and bursting of all kinds of firecrackers upto January 1, 2025 in the national capital. The ban comes ahead of festive season that can result a surge in pollition in the union territory. Delhi's air quality worsened to the 'poor' category on Sunday, the day after Dussehra, with the Centre deciding to closely monitor the situation before taking anti-air pollution measures under Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Delhi's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 224 on Sunday, according to the 4 pm AQI bulletin from the Central Pollution Control Board. GRAP is categorised into four stages based on Delhi's air quality: Stage I — 'Poor' (AQI 201-300); Stage II — 'Very Poor' (AQI 301-400); Stage III — 'Severe' (AQI 401-450); and Stage IV — 'Severe Plus' (AQI >450).

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asserted that its government in Delhi is the first in the country to provide free 200 units of electricity per month and fifty per cent subsidy on monthly consumption of 400 units. The AAP, in a statement, alleged that the BJP wanted to stall the Delhi government's free electricity scheme by pressurising officers. The first stage also bans open burning of waste, limits the use of diesel generators, and prohibits the use of coal or firewood in eateries. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's 24-hour average air quality index stood at 234 (poor category) as of 4 pm on Monday.

Supreme Court on Monday extended stay on defamation proceedings against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in trial court'Scorpion' remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While hearing Tharoor's plea on September 10, the apex court had stayed the proceedings before a trial court in the defamation case filed against the Congress MP. The top court had also issued notice to the Delhi Police and BJP leader Rajiv Babbar, who is the complainant in the case, seeking their responses on the plea.

Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted BJP leader Subramanian Swamy time to file a copy of petition pending before the Allahabad High Court on the issue of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's citizenship. The court was informed by Swamy that he had obtained the copy of the petition and the prayers in that matter are different from that of his pleadings. A bench of Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela asked the petitioner to file the documents in electronic form in compliance with its last order and listed his plea for further hearing on November 6. The bench was hearing a plea by Swamy seeking directions to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to decide his representation seeking cancellation of Rahul Gandhi's Indian citizenship.
