Tesla cuts prices in China, Germany and other key markets amid sales slump
Tesla has announced significant price cuts for its electric vehicles (EVs) in key markets, including China and Germany, as it grapples with declining sales and heightened competition. This move follows price reductions in the United States and comes on the heels of the company reporting a drop in global vehicle deliveries for the first time in almost four years. Price Adjustments to Boost Sales The price cuts aim to stimulate demand and regain market share in the face of increasing competition, particularly from more affordable Chinese EV manufacturers. Tesla has been facing challenges in maintaining sales momentum, and these price reductions are seen as a strategic response to current market dynamics.

Indian wear business slows down in times of fast fashion
ethnic wear brand Indifusion, which it had acquired three years ago, amid mounting losses and falling demand. The move also signals a larger slowdown trend in the overall ethnic wear segment since last year, said retailers and mall owners. Bestseller said the brand's sales did not meet expectations or ambitions and, therefore, they decided to make strategic adjustments and realign its focus. Bestseller, known for its western casual brands such as Jack and Jones and Vero Moda, purchased Indifusion in a distress sale during the peak of the pandemic but had no prior experience in operating an Indian wear label. «For a western brand company, understanding the Indian wear segment is challenging and time consuming too. Also, there has been a general slowdown in the discretionary segment including apparel, which worsened its revival plan,» said an industry executive. Over the past two decades, a shift from ready-to-stitch clothing to ready-to-wear along with the entry of national players like BIBA, W, AND, and Global Desi has propelled the growth in branded apparel helped by a significant shift away from traditional sarees towards ethnic wear and western wear. In India, ethnic wear is the single biggest category in the women's wear segment with a share of 71% despite global fashion brands such as Zara, H&M and Uniqlo pushing westernised clothing in their market.

INDIA bloc has done well in first phase of Lok Sabha polls, claims Cong's Digvijaya Singh
INDIA bloc has done well in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls held across the country on April 19, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh claimed on Sunday. Singh has been fielded by the Congress from his home turf Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh. «Good news is coming for INDIA bloc from several places in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls. BJP is not getting the success they expected in their strongholds. They are nervous,» Singh told reporters in Ajgari village, which is part of Chachoda assembly segment under Rajgarh LS seat. He claimed Union Minister and BJP heavyweight Nitin Gadkari «is in trouble» in Nagpur, though he did not elaborate. Two-time MP Gadkari is pitted against the Congress' Vikas Thakre in Nagpur Lok Sabha seat. The BJP used to speak about «Congress-mukt Bharat» but the ruling party itself has become «Congress-yukt» as half of its candidates in the general elections are defectors from the grand old party, the former MP chief minister claimed.
