2023 MLB trade deadline: Check the latest news, rumors, other key updates, and all you need to know
2023 MLB trade deadline approaches, contending teams are making decisions on what additions they need before 6 p.m. ET on August 1. Some key questions include whether Shohei Ohtani could be traded from the Los Angeles Angels, and if players like Marcus Stroman, Cody Bellinger, and Lucas Giolito could be dealt to contenders. Additionally, it is to note that teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants are looking to make moves to boost their chances in the 2023 World Series. As this week unfolds, 29 teams are hoping for the Los Angeles Angels to lose all their games and make Shohei Ohtani available for trade. Meanwhile, around 15 contenders are rooting for the San Diego Padres and New York Mets to continue their downward spirals and give up. Additionally, the Major League Baseball Players Association is watching closely, hoping that big-spending teams like the Mets, Yankees, and Padres, who collectively spent $880 million, can turn their fortunes around and prove that spending leads to success.

Barbie and Oppenheimer: Barbenheimer box office predictions; both films to earn this much amount
«Barbie» showcases the iconic Mattel doll's pink-themed universe, while «Oppenheimer» delves into the story of the architect behind the atomic bomb. Despite their distinct themes, the two films have become intertwined in a conjoined hype cycle, resulting in a surge in ticket sales. AMC Entertainment reported that over 40,000 people purchased tickets for a double feature of both films, amounting to five hours of movie viewing. Although the films are expected to perform well, «Barbie» is projected to outshine «Oppenheimer» at the box office. Analysts predict that «Barbie» has the potential to rake in an impressive $158 million in the United States and Canada through the opening weekend. On the other hand, «Oppenheimer» is estimated to bring in approximately half of that amount, around $50 million in domestic sales. Warner Bros., the studio behind «Barbie,» cautiously tempered expectations, suggesting a more conservative estimate of around $75 million.

YouTuber JiDion faces wrath of NBA, gets banned from all events. Details here
JiDion recently found himself banned from all NBA-related events following his latest high-profile sports prank at a WNBA game. JiDion has a history of getting into trouble during athletic competitions, such as being kicked out of the US Open for getting a haircut while sitting courtside. However, this time, his prank went a step further, resulting in his expulsion from the game entirely. In a video uploaded on July 19, JiDion can be seen trolling players and fans at a WNBA game between the Minnesota Lynx and the Dallas Wings. During the match, a ball flew into the crowd near JiDion, who seized the opportunity to attempt a jump shot. Unfortunately for him, his impromptu stunt got him ejected from the game, with an arena staff member warning him about shooting the ball during the match. In another yet similar incident, JiDion attended another WNBA game in Los Angeles, where he took a nap on some courtside seats. Later, this second prank led to his eviction from the game and an extended ban from all NBA-related events. Now, his fans have flooded the WNBA's official Instagram account with sleeping emojis, referencing his video titled «Don't Sleep on the WNBA!»

Govern and elections would take care of themselves: Eric Garcetti's advice to politicians
Eric Garcetti believes that the politicians need to focus on leadership and governance and the elections would take care of them. «I love elections, and maybe it's because I've been in many of them. But it's a moment where the people get to prove that they're in control, that it's not the top down, it's the bottom up in our countries; a moment to listen to candidates, hear what they're going to say, and make a decision based on what's in your own best interest,» US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti told PTI in an interview.
